Articles and Updates

As a Firewise Community, we must create and submit an Action Plan every three years.  This Action Plan is reviewed by CalFire on an annual basis to ensure that we are striving to achieve our set goals.  The four categories are Education and Outreach, Home Hardening, Defensible Space and Evacuation Planning. 

A few of our Education and Outreach Goals for 2025 are

  1. Educate our community on safe burning practices through our community website

  2. Inform our community of new federal, state and county legislation regarding fire safety

  3. Contribute Firewise information, updates and activities to our community website and newsletters

We have worked with the webmaster to keep the Firewise pages of the Valley Ranch website current with upcoming events, safe burn practices, current information on burn permits and green waste as well as information on home hardening and defensible space.  We, however, felt that we needed to do more to bring our community the latest information on federal, state and county legislation regarding fire safety.  This web page “Articles and Updates” will attempt to do just that.
