Graeagle Firewise began participation in the national Firewise USA recognition program in 2010. 

The total number of households is approximately 625 and the number of residents is approximately 1,200 with 700 full-time and 500 part-time. The majority of homes in Graeagle were constructed in the 60-70's in a heavily forested area. There is continued work each year throughout the community on defensible space and home hardening.
