Sierra Estates is a small Firewise Community in Clio, CA that is located along Highway 89.  The community is nestled between the town of Clio, and the communities of Mohawk Valley and Valley Ranch Estates.  Tributaries of Mohawk and Sulfur Creeks run unrestricted through these properties on their way to the middle fork of the Feather River.

Sierra Estates has been part of the Graeagle Fire Protection District since 2010, creating its own Firewise Community in 2023.  The Sierra Estates community consists of 11 residential lots ranging in size from approximately 4 acres to 20 acres.  Property ownership consists of both full and part time residents, all of which are committed to Firewise and reducing the risk of wildfires in our community.  Together, this conscientious team of concerned citizens, have put in the time necessary into making our enclave as safe as possible if threatened by a wildfire. 

Clio, originally known as "Wash" and later nicknamed "Boozeville”, was a bustling logging, rail, and stagecoach stop in the early 1900’s.  It has since evolved into a peaceful respite for families looking to escape the crowds of busier mountain destinations like Truckee or Lake Tahoe.
